Ant Control

ants

Ants are known to easily infiltrate homes and businesses through cracks in walls and gaps in the foundation. Once they find a way in, these pesky insects can become exceptionally difficult to get rid of. At CJB Pest and Mosquito Control, our professional team utilizes top-grade equipment, baits, and our decades of experience to locate the root of the problem, quickly identifying your specific ant issue, and finding the best way to control them. As a result, you can feel comfortable in your own space again.

Carpenter Ant Control

Carpenter ant colonies infest wood surfaces around and inside your property, damaging the structural integrity. With a lifespan of up to 15 years, unless the queen is eliminated, the nest of these crawling pests continues to grow. At CJB Pest and Mosquito Control, we aren’t just getting ants temporarily out of your face, we are eliminating the problem as a whole by targeting the precise location of the nest and eliminating the queen.

Areas of your home that are susceptible to carpenter ant damage and nesting include:

  • Door and window frames

  • Roof underlayments

  • Wood studs

  • Sill plates

  • Living or dead trees

  • Tree stumps

  • Rotting logs

  • And more

Ant Elimination Service

Ant elimination is our specialty. Our unique dual process guarantees complete structural removal from your home. Backed by our 12-16 Month Industry-Best GUARANTEE! Ant colonies infest the wood within your home, damaging the structural integrity. This can cause other problems. Carpenter ant colonies can survive for up to 15 YEARS unless the Queen is eliminated, and each year the nest will grow. That is what differentiates us from other companies– we’re not just getting them temporarily out of your face, we are eliminating the problem as a whole by targeting the location of the nest and eliminating the queen. Even though interior activity is mainly seen between April-July, the nest is still very active until the winter months.

Our carpenter ant service includes a detailed inspection report identifying areas to be sealed off, and do-it -yourself recommendations like removing rotting wood around your home, which serves as an attractant.

Exterior Ant Prevention Services

If you are seeing activity outside of your home and want to prevent them from getting inside try our ant exterior treatment. This service provides a detailed treatment to all the areas ants would attempt to enter your home for food, water, or possible nesting. We also apply insecticide granules and/or bait granules around the perimeter of the home to give you an added layer of protection against entry, and lessen the insect population as well as the bait granules for them to take back to their nest. This service also comes with the detailed inspection report for areas to seal and environmental recommendations to make your property less attractive to ants.

Pavement Ant Control

ants

Pavement ants, or little brown ants, nest primarily under homes that are either partially or entirely on a slab. They love to find food crumbs inside of your home or business and will often be seen in mass numbers. Colonies can also set up shop in crawl spaces and along the exterior foundations of a home. They are also seen pushing up dirt on cement structures such as sidewalks, driveways, and patios. Activity with these ants is year-round, and it is not uncommon to see the most activity during colder months when they forage more to the inside of the home.

Our top-grade ant treatments will quickly end the activity inside of your home, and treatment to the exterior will help prevent new colonies from entering. This service comes with a 6-month guarantee and detailed inspection and recommendations. You can also receive a “general crawling insect” treatment that not only covers pavement ants, but all the other common crawling insects such as spiders, centipedes, millipedes, pillbugs, sowbugs, earwigs, misc beetles, and wood roaches.

Odorous House Ant Control

Odorous house ants are relatively new to Southeast Michigan. There has been a dramatic rise in the number of calls for them over the last two years. Usually seen in high numbers, Odorous house ants are small brown or black ants found in water-related areas. They will have a distinct travel pattern as they leave behind a “chemical” trail for the other ants to follow. Their activity and movement often consists of straight lines (or very close to it) heading toward the food and water they are foraging to, then leaving similarly. You will see them crawling up and down cabinets, on walls, into gaps in the baseboards, etc. They like to nest in water-damaged wood like carpenter ants but have also been seen nesting in small wood pieces such as kitchen drawer frames, thick trim boards, and wood landscape ties. Our combination of strategic residual treatment and baits will eliminate the population quickly.

Acrobat Ant Control

Characterized by a distinctive heart-shaped gaster, these ants generally live outdoors in dark, moist places. Acrobat ants don’t eat wood, but they will almost always be nesting in water damaged wood inside or on the home. However, they can also be found in decaying trees, cut or rotting wood, or damp railroad ties.

If the area is heavily infested, we highly recommend our perimeter treatment applied around your foundation by one of our pest control professionals. The pest technician will identify all the entry points and list them for your review on our inspection report as well as how to close those entry points. CJB Pest and Mosquito Control is proud to offer effective pest-proofing services, and quotes can be given at the time of your scheduled service.
